In One Paragraph

You may qualify for the GLP-1 Medicare Bridge Program if you have Medicare, struggle with chronic weight management, and meet the medical criteria for treatment with a GLP-1 medication. Beginning July 1, 2026, this new CMS-supported program will create a more affordable pathway for eligible Medicare beneficiaries to access certain GLP-1 medications for weight management. Eligibility is based on factors such as your weight, health history, current medical conditions, and whether a GLP-1 medication is appropriate for your situation. A clinical evaluation can help determine whether you qualify.

The two sides

Likely a fit, or likely not.

Likely a fit

  • You have Medicare (Part D or a Medicare Advantage plan with prescription drug coverage).
  • Your primary clinical reason for a GLP-1 is chronic weight management.
  • You meet the program's BMI and health-history criteria, confirmed at consultation.
  • You're willing to work with a clinician on the surrounding care — nutrition, muscle preservation, monitoring.

Likely not a fit

  • You take a GLP-1 for type 2 diabetes — that's already covered by standard Part D.
  • You take Zepbound for obstructive sleep apnea with obesity — already covered.
  • You take Wegovy, prescribed for MASH with advanced fibrosis — already covered by Part D.
  • You have personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN 2 — GLP-1s are contraindicated.
  • You've had pancreatitis or severe GI disease that makes GLP-1s unsafe for you.

Final eligibility is determined clinically. These lists are guidance, not a guarantee — your full medical history is what decides.

What happens next

The path from consultation to coverage.

01

Schedule a consultation

Begin with a 60-minute comprehensive intake visit. If treatment is appropriate, we'll work together to create a personalized plan with ongoing monitoring, guidance, and support.

02

Individualized care plan

If a GLP-1 is appropriate, we build the plan around it — protein targets, hydration, muscle preservation, monitoring cadence, and dose escalation.

03

Eligibility review

We confirm Medicare status, walk through Bridge Program criteria, and identify any reasons a GLP-1 wouldn't be safe for you.

04

Ongoing oversight

Regular check-ins as you titrate, with adjustments to your medications, nutrition, and movement as your body changes.

The goal isn’t just access to medication—it’s better health.

If you’re curious about your eligibility, let’s start with a conversation about your health, your goals, and the options available to support your long-term success.
